At Alvast we help people find a nice new place to live every day. It is therefore incredibly nice when our efforts are appreciated by residents who experience the collaboration as pleasant and professional. This time we were even surprised with a delicious chocolate bar and pastry from two satisfied residents.

Squatting has been in the news more often lately. Not only in Amsterdam do you see an increase in squatted buildings, but also in other cities such as Nijmegen, Rotterdam, and even smaller municipalities notice that squatting of vacant objects is a permanent problem.

In the village of Lathum, where only 550 people live, the village council plays a central role. Thanks to a collaboration with the municipality and Alvast, the village council has managed to create a unique space for the residents. What was once an abandoned school building is now a vibrant village hall where young and old come together.

Today is friendship day. At Alvast we think it is important that our residents get along well with the rest of the neighborhood, because better a good neighbor than a distant friend, right? It is precisely for this reason that we hand out neighbor cards to our new residents.
