Collaborate already
Young people who need help are given the opportunity to develop through a safe haven through Alvast and guidance from their care provider.
In the winter of 2022, Alvast entered into a partnership with a care provider in Arnhem to offer temporary housing to adults with a need for support. High time to explain this collaboration in more detail through a short interview. First let me introduce myself….
What does the healthcare provider do?
The care provider is a young organization that is involved in social projects, activating work and outpatient guidance in the Central Gelderland region. In recent years, this healthcare provider has become increasingly known as an organization that contributes creatively to the well-being of individuals, groups and the living environment. The fact that this healthcare provider not only looks at the individual but also at the environment is in line with Alvast's vision.
What does Alvast vacancy management do?
Alvast has more than 20 years of experience in temporarily managing vacant real estate. Thirdly, it often seems as if all vacancy managers do the same. However, nothing could be further from the truth! The way in which Alvast provides its services makes a big difference. Alvast distinguishes itself through short lines of communication, an extensive selection and placement procedure, customized temporary implementation, social management and attention to sustainability.
How did this collaboration come about?
Actually very simple; the organizations have found each other as the perfect match! The care provider was asked by the municipality to rehouse a client who is receiving guidance.
Alvast focuses on housing and takes care of social management together with the healthcare provider. You can think of organizing activities to promote the bond between residents and the quality of life in the neighborhood.
How does this work in practice?
The young people have a “special” request for help. The collaboration between Alvast and the care provider offers more stability so that the focus for residents remains on self-development and improving their financial situation. After a period of rest, the resident and the supervisor will look for permanent housing elsewhere. The collaboration can therefore be seen as a progression opportunity for special target groups. A nice win-win situation!
The concept concrete:
- Accessible care for residents with special needs.
- There are contact moments between the care provider and the resident(s) several times a week.
- Contact with the neighborhood team to possibly use neighborhood mediation;
- Together with the residents in the neighborhood, the care provider and Alvast, activities are organized that promote connections with local residents and the quality of life.
What are the benefits for the housing association?
A housing association is not only relieved during the management phase, but is also helped to maintain the quality of life in the immediate area. Partly because of this, the corporation can focus on the future scenario of the complex or environment and does not have to worry about vacancy management. Alvast has experience with social housing concepts but does not have the expertise to guide young people. With these types of projects, collaboration with a party that specializes in this is the ideal outcome.
What are the future plans?
Similar projects and collaborations are currently active throughout the Netherlands. Alvast likes to grab the opportunity to contribute to society with both hands.
