A store without stuff. But with impact.

Opened in the middle of Amsterdam The Last Shop its doors. No products, no gadgets — but something that more and more people need: attention. For €4,99 you don't buy stuff here, but a listening ear.

Thanks to vacancy management via Alvast, this special concept was given the space to grow.

From possession to meaning

Founder Robin noticed that we collect more and more, but really listen less and less. The Last Shop is his answer to materialism. A place where you don't buy stuff, but values. On the shelves are no products, but human needs:

  • A second chance
  • Recognition
  • Self-reflection
  • New standards and values

Together with other makers, Robin develops concepts that make these themes discussable. The conversation is more important than the transaction. The store makes visible what people are really looking for.

Flexibility through vacancy management

For a new initiative, space is essential. But high rents often form a barrier. Through a loan arrangement with Alvast, Robin was able to use a temporarily available retail space in the heart of Amsterdam. This gave him the opportunity to experiment and put his idea into practice.

The collaboration not only provided physical space, but also the freedom to explore what works. In this way, vacancy became an opportunity to create social value.
